Cathy Carr-Dadin is the Bariatric Coordinator and one of the founders of the Saint Agnes Bariatric Program. Cathy had open gastric bypass in 1999, and has maintained a 180 weight loss for more than 15 years. Cathy is an advocate for her patients and others struggling with obesity. She chaired the Maryland Taskforce for the Utilization Review for Morbid Obesity in 2005-2007 and has testified before the Maryland State Legislature to ensure that all Marylanders have access to care. She earned a Certification in Bariatric Nursing from the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) in 2007, the first year they offered the exam, and is now a proud member of ASMBS as well.
A registered nurse for 29 years, Barbara Stricker has specialized in bariatric nursing since 2004. Her nursing career has involved direct patient care, staff education, and patient education. She has also been involved in committees which develop clinical pathways for the care of the bariatric population. Her certification in bariatric nursing from ASMBS was earned in 2010, and she is both a member of ASMBS and an active local chapter member.
